Jaxon is 17 months old today!
He climbs on everything.
He grunts and whimpers when he wants help with something.
He has 8 teeth with 1 starting to come through and 1 more on the way.
He's pretty allergic to mosquitoes- when he gets bitten the bite swells and stays for more than a week.
He's had 3 haircuts.
He love love LOVES to talk!!
He's saying all kinds of words, and he loves to repeat anything new I say.
He can open the kitchen door if he tries really hard, and if he gets it open he BOLTS.
He loves being outside!
He gets scrapes and bruises all over, and I have no idea where most of them come from, even though I'm with him all day long.
He's started to become very picky with his food. He won't eat a lot of food he used to love.
He wants to feed himself. Always. Even when he doesn't want to eat the food, he'll try it if I let him feed it to himself.
He loves to point out things he recognizes- trees, eyes, trucks, cars, clocks, phones (po), spoons (poo), lights (die), mail-as in mailman (maymo), shoes
Grandma Marian taught him patty cake. Whenever he sees her, he knows she's going to ask him to do it, so he does it automatically!
We played with bubbles today. He was so excited he was literally SHAKING!!
He loves bike rides but hates his helmet.
He love love LOVES water, bath time, and swimming.
I don't usually know he's woken up in the morning or from naps unless I check the video monitor because he doesn't cry. He talks, plays, and sings to himself until I come to get him.
He likes to play the piano and sing to himself.
He loves water. He drinks water all day long, in between milk bottles.
He loves trying to put on socks and shoes, but hasn't been able to do it yet.
He has started to say thank you (tankoo). SO cute.
He prays. We say prayer time, and he folds hims arms and mumbles to himself.
His favorite toys are cars and balls.
He's started giving hugs on demand. LOVE.
When he's giving hugs or petting an animal (stuffed or real), I say, "that's so nice" and he's starting to say "Ny" (nice) whenever he does things like that too.
He's a little OCD about things being closed. Doors, drawers, cabinets, closets, EVERYTHING.
If there's a door open to a room he doesn't have access to, he sneaks in and gets really quiet until I find him.
One cupboard doesn't have a child lock on it. He loves to open it, sneak things out of it (food coloring, vanilla, salt), and run away.
When I tell him to put something back, he does! SO cute!
He loves being chased. Any time, anywhere. Even if he's sad-being chased makes him snap right out of it.
He can drink from a cup, and LOVES to, but he usually spills a lot when he does, so we help, or just be prepared to clean up.
He LOVES to drink from a straw. He will chug most anything I give him that way.
Grandma Marian has given him sips of Coke 2 or 3 times. He makes the most awful face! She thinks it's hilarious! This must be what it's like for non-LDS people who give sips of alcohol to youngsters. :)
We sure love this little guy so much! I can't believe he's already 17 months old!
