MOVED

So I realize we never official said we'd moved. WE MOVED!! We live in Provo now, right by DI so my walk wasn't too far. We're renting our house in Spanish Fork. I'm really sad, but life goes on. We needed to de-junk anyway!

On my way to school.......

Alright, I know it's been forever. But my adventure today was too good to not post. I'll get to the rest of what we've been up to later.

This morning as I was getting ready to leave the house, I slicked my hair back into a pony tail with gel so all my little flyaways wouldn't bother me while I worked in the lab. Then I saw the book I've just started reading (The Host) and almost picked it up, but decided not too. I decided I would come home when I was done with work, so I wouldn't need the book. Then I thought about grabbing a coat as I watched the morning news: rain now, snow later today. Then I remembered that I have a coat at school, and I was just gonna run from the car to the building anyway. No need. I did, however, grab an umbrella. Never mind that I hadn't used it in over 3 years. I also thought about grabbing some food, but decided I'd be home soon enough to eat, so I opted to not pack the cooler. I got all my stuff ready and headed out the door. As the door swung shut behind me, I thought, "KEYS." Too late. I was locked out, and didn't have the car keys either.

Excellent.

I stood in front of the door for a few minutes, trying to figure out what I would do. I will admit that I frantically tried to make the door magically open, several times. Then finally decided I had no choice but to walk to work because Tyler was the only other person with keys, and he was working in Salt Lake. So off I headed, into the cold, blowing wind. Remember, my hair is up, and I'm wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt. As I walked across the bridge by my house, I had to wade through ankle-deep water. Yeah. Then I walked another block. A car with things on its roof drove passed, and it lost a lamp cover from its load. The lamp cover fell to the pavement right next to me and shattered. I was hit with frosty glass shards from head to toe. I felt them hit all along my right arm, and leg, and one shard even hit my lower eye lid. I quite literally dodged a glass bullet there. If it had been just 1/4 inch higher.... It also scared the crap out of me. Then I walked another block, and as I stood waiting for the light, a large bee landed on my chest. This bee was the big kind, the kind you can see all the nasty hair on. As I flailed like an idiot to try and get the bee to fly away, everyone driving passed must have thought I was dying. It didn't move until I actually hit it off of me. Stupid bee.

I walked another block, it started to rain, and waited for the light there. A bicyclist hit me. HIT me.... in the back as he rode by. Nice. By this time, my ears are stinging from the cold and I can see my breath very clearly. One more block and I had made it on to campus and into the Tanner building. As I walked in, the heat hit me and it stung. Do you know that feeling when your feet are cold and you stick them into the hot tub? That's what my whole body felt like. Ouch! I bought some hot chocolate and promptly burned my tongue. I walked up the four flights of stairs to campus street-level. As I left the building to walk across campus, it started to rain a little harder. My hot chocolate was splashing onto my hands as rain drops fell into it. I stopped to open the umbrella (the wind had been blowing too hard earlier) and found out that only about a quarter of the cloth was actually attached to the little metal prongs. Huh, I guess I should have checked that before I left. So off I go, hiding below the 2 square feet of cover, holding my umbrella in one hand, and my hot chocolate in the other. I took a swig of my hot chocolate a little too enthusiastically, and it got all over my face. By this time, so much has happened that I can't help but laugh out loud. After my uncontrollable outburst, I happen to look around and notice that others are staring at me. Woops. After licking what I thought was all of the hot chocolate off my face, I wiped my face onto the sleeve of my white shirt, while still holding the umbrella and hot chocolate. I hadn't gotten it all. I now have a nice chocolate stain on the sleeve of my white shirt. Nice. Very classy.

While I was working today, something was going wrong with my machine. It was something so stupid that I should have been able to fix it. I worked on it for a while, and the machine just was NOT cooperating. I was in the lab alone and I was so frustrated that I said really loudly, several times, "REALLY?!?" It made me feel better. :)

It's now many hours later and I'm still at school, waiting for Tyler to come pick me up because it's too cold to walk home, even with my jacket from school. I'm starving, dirty, without my book, and very tired.

Oh, I also got my monthly gift today. Top THAT!!
